WODWICHEE is running the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA) at Sonai Road, Silchar, Cachar district since 2007 with support of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts run by WODWICHEE has been a relief to many people struggling with addiction.
At present Centre is a 15-bedded facility specialized with a multi- faceted program that reaches people from different walks of life who are struggling with addiction to alcohol, heroin and other harmful substances. Focusing on awareness, de-addiction treatment and rehabilitation, the program covers individual & group therapy. The Centre strongly believes in maintaining and restoring patient’s relationships with friends and family. A team of highly competent counsellors & staff are engaged in helping the clients develop their personalities in order to fight addictive habits. The recovery rate of the centre has been up to the expected level of more than 81%.
Services at the IRCA
The IRCA has been working actively for intervention, treatment, training and rehabilitation of addicts and for generating awareness and sensitivity around the issues of addiction. The core services provided by the Centre comprises of the following components:
• Preventive Education & Awareness Generation.
• Detoxification & Medically Managed Withdrawal.
• Counselling and Life-skills Training.
• Vocational Rehabilitation.
• After care and reintegration into the social mainstream and follow-up.
