The growing need for better livelihood options and employment has turned Assam into a fertile place for human traffickers and in the past few years, hundreds young women & children of the state have fallen prey to the designs of traffickers and have been exploited.
A District Level Training of Trainers (ToT) on Combating Human Trafficking is organized often by WODWICHEE in collaboration with District Police. Training sessions are organized in presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Public Prosecutor, Sr. Advocate & President, Dist. Level Committee for Crimes Involving Women, lecturers of colleges and others as resource persons. PRIs and NGO participates in the training program. Following the training, a nos. of Community Vigilance Groups (CVG) are constituted in Gaon Panchayet level to combat human trafficking in the districts.
